Imported an STL file and just want to cut a hole in the face and all I get is a solid cylinder.
Can you give us a little more?
Did your STL import correctly before you tried to cut the hole in the face?
Are you cutting using the Boolean (add/subtract/intersect) or extruding a body to cut into it?
