The wait is over.
Yesterday, we announced that Season 2 kicks off today, but kept the first challenge as a secret. Now, the wait is over—it’s time for the big reveal.
Welcome to Batch 2: Extrude.
Over the next five weeks, you’ll take on five modeling challenges designed to push you beyond your usual Shapr3D workflow. Each challenge comes with a specific set of tools you’re allowed to use, so you’ll have to find a solution using only what’s provided.
And yes, there are some valuable prizes waiting for the top performers:
1st place: $150 voucher + 1,000 Genren tokens + exclusive merch + digital community badge
2nd place: $100 voucher + 500 Genren tokens + exclusive merch + digital community badge
3rd place: $50 voucher + 250 Genren tokens + exclusive merch + digital community badge
Now, let’s get started.
Challenge #1: Model a Minimalistic Stand
Your first challenge is a warm-up: create a simple, minimalistic stand according to the technical drawing below.
Your constraints
For this challenge, your Design History may contain only Sketch, Extrude, and Construction tools.
Using any other tool will result in an invalid submission.
What you need to submit
Submit a screenshot of your project via this link, following the guidelines in the form, by Thursday, August 20, 23:59 CEST.
Your submission will be checked against the challenge requirements, and successful entries will be added to the leaderboard.
How scoring works
Every challenge is an opportunity to earn points:
-
10 points — complete the challenge
-
6 bonus points — successfully complete the model
-
5 points — 1st submission
-
4 points — 2nd submission
-
3 points — 3rd submission
-
2 points — 4th submission
-
1 point — 5th submission
-
3 extra points — after participating in 3 challenges
-
10 extra points — participate in all 5 challenges
So you don’t have to be the fastest person in the community to compete. Show up, keep participating, and keep collecting points across the season.
One important rule
Don’t share your solution or the final body volume until the challenge is over.
You can discuss the challenge, ask questions, and share your approach, but keep the final solution to yourself until the deadline has passed.
If you hit a wall, ask the community. Someone might point you in the right direction without giving away the solution.
Let Season 2 begin!
