We’re launching something we’ve been quietly building for a while.
Starting June 29, we’re running the Weekly Modeling Challenges, a weekly series of modeling tasks designed to be first fun to work through, and second useful for building your skills in the app.
Most people who use Shapr3D, whether you’ve been on it for years or just downloaded it last week, tend to settle into a set of tools they’re comfortable with. That’s natural. But it also means a lot of the app just sits there, unexplored.
The challenges are designed to change that. Each week’s task comes with a strict set of tool constraints: you can only use what we specify. That means you can’t fall back on your usual workflow. You have to figure out how to solve the problem with the tools in front of you.
We hope this can help you explore Shapr3D more, but also challenge your skills and get better at modeling. And earn a bunch of cool gifts.
Here’s how Season 1 works:
Season 1 kicks off on June 29 with Batch 1: Parametric Sketching. Five challenges, one per week.
Each week you’ll receive:
-
A 2D technical drawing of the target model
-
Written instructions specifying exactly which tools you’re allowed to use
Your submission gets reviewed against a strict checklist unique for each challenge.
Points, streaks, and prizes
Every valid submission earns completion points. Submit early and you pick up a speed bonus. Complete every challenge in the season and earn extra points.
