The problem that this feature will solve:
3mf is becoming more and more common in 3D printing. Unlike an stl, a file offered as 3mf can be imported into cad software and edited. Files offered as stl are basically uneditable. Not being able to import 3mf files into Shapr3d means, that you can not benefit from the added value of the 3mf files offered, but restricts you to stl functionality, if you want to use shapr3d.
Brief description of the outcomes that you expect from this feature:
Being able to use 3mf files provided from sources like Printables.com, to easily customize the models, in ways that are not possible with stl files. Not being able to import those 3mf means, that i can not use shapr3d, but require something that allows for either import of 3mf or allows the conversion of stl to an editable format. Which points users into a direction you probably don’t like (free for non commercial…)
The files are usually not as complex as blender models or the like, so shapr3d should be able to handle the editing.
