It would be even more useful if we could unhide some sketch or body’s in isolation mode.

Export isolated objects does not seem to be supported? Entire design is exported, even when in isolate mode.
If you export in .shapr format, yes. the primary purpose of .shapr exports are for backing up your designs. Other formats will export the isolated parts only, if the export visible bodies option is used.

If you are importing it back to Shapr3D, you should use x_t (Parasolid) format.
