Architectural Dimensions Problems

I decided to model my house because my wife wants to discuss ‘improvements’. Also in California, we have a new law permitting one to construct a ‘granny shack’ aka Accessory Dwelling Unit with less red tape and administrative cost than normal. I also want to explore the size possibilities for this.

Am starting with the official plot map used by the tax people.

I didn’t get very far and experienced angle input issues. My units:

71A9F75D-DFC9-4A8D-8E19-B305A655D349

9079BA6F-57E4-47BB-847F-9D404282CCA7
Am starting with line on far right and want to orient it to true North after I set its length. Can enter 10 deg, 17 min but now I want to enter 9 sec, (0 then 9) the 0 is accepted but the top row in the input calculator remains dimmed and I am frustrated. No seeming way to resolve? Seems to be a bug. I see the logic in denying 7,8,9 for the first number in minutes and seconds but once a valid number is input, the second number should not be limited. Also it would be useful to delete last number entered or last section. Minutes works correctly but not seconds.

Please take a look at this and advise.

Thanks,

Tommy

There is an additional or related problem when inputting dimensions to shorten a line. I draw this line.

I want to set it to 3’ 4” . No matter what I enter in the dialog, the line length remains unchanged. That is, there is no effect for the dimensional input. The original length remains.

Note that this only seems to occur when shortening a line so a workaround is to draw an undersized line and lengthen it.

Best,

Tommy

After working further, the latter problem mentioned seems to be circumstantial. That is, I was able to shorten a line in other cases.

Hope this report helps…

Tommy

Hi Tommy,

Thanks very much for reporting the above 2 issues.
We’ll look into it.

Peter

I hope Istvan gave you the tape measure I gave him in LA… To make your life a bit easier!

Tommy
