Faster selection/deselection of items.
I don’t think screenshots are necessary.
For example, you could choose between two area select modes:

The current default mode.

A new mode that selects unselected items, but deselects any already selected items when dragged over them.
Without this tool, I found myself a bit slowed down on a very detailed project. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it would be a nice feature to have!
