Body movement with dynamic variation

Hello!

It may not be possible with the current toolbox, but maybe you know a solution.

Since it is already possible to import bodies directly and this import already brings dynamic variations related to the body, I would like to solve it by making different tightening (and other) elements this way. This would make the work much more flexible.

Understand:

    • In the first half of the video I show what I want. The tightening hardware is made dynamically. It is dynamic from the edge of the material, the dimensions, the number of pieces, etc. Everything. There I solved this by drawing it in 2D in the plan and adjusting it to the given body and so everything works.

BUT. A new body core would be much simpler if I created these connecting elements in a separate project with dynamic parameters and imported what I needed.

    • Just like I would do in the second half of the video.

However, I can’t set it to be X mm from the edge of the material and have it be changeable. Also, if I change the size of the base body (in our case the rectangle), the whole thing shifts.

I can’t fix the dimensions with the move command and dynamically vary them accordingly.

Is there a solution for this at the moment? Or is this something that still needs to be developed?

Thank you in advance for your answers and help.

The file shown in the first half of the video, I uploaded it. I would like to solve this, only with imported bodies / connecting elements.

And that’s what I started trying to see if it could be solved.

Hope that will help.

I’ll try it, thank you!

Which step am I doing wrong?

You aligning to the face. To make it work you have to align to the sketch line.

Aaaaah, okay. Is there a way to attach a center point to it?

You can add center edge/line to the part and aligning this line to the sketch line.

I’ll try it, thank you!

I don’t think it’s enough to just draw a line there, because then I can’t connect it. How would you solve this?

Not just a line but edge line.

I feel really stupid now, but could you please show me the process of how you made the body that needs to be inserted? (I’ve done more than one thing in S3D)

How did you make it so that there is an edge line on top but it is one body?

(I solved it by mirroring, cutting the body in half, inserting half the body, mirroring, merging. But it could probably be easier)

Oooooh, man. Thanks!
