Bunch of decks

Some of them are concepts, but some of them have made it through the city and got permitted and I built them personally thank you Shapr you have no idea

They all look great! Decks are fun stuff. I built the decks for a family with three consecutive homes, with custom draw bridges connecting them for the quadriplegic granddaughter to get back and forth (added after final inspection of course  ). We built a hotel for the same family. The first Ashley Inn. I was the special projects guy for the company.

Being a builder, even if you are putting a hot tub on 0303 you have too many pier blocks unless your load beams are small for clearance purposes. They kinda rob from the design.

Very nice. Did you use the parametric features?

Nicely done and great attention to detail.

I did not only because I have to slam these out the door.

Sick, post pics of the bridge. That’s one of the things I hope to build but never have gotten the opportunity

That was 27+ years ago. Basically there were three very large all cedar decks with cedar beams. Spendy. The company I worked for was the general contractor building hotels for the father. The spans were only about 6 or 7 foot. 6x6 cedar mast with a pulley come along to raise and lower for head clearance between the decks. The property setbacks were pretty lenient. No state of the art cell phones to take pics in the day. She was 400lbs. We had to put a tracked electric winch system in the ceiling above her bed to get her out of her wheelchair. They got their money when she was hit by a LA city bus while in a crosswalk.

My job was to fix screw ups and do projects added after the architects were out of the picture, stuff not covered by subcontractors. Boss says hey can you make bridges for these decks your building? I dunno, probably. I’ll need some stuff. His architect drew up the brackets. :man_shrugging:

When I get time I can draw it. Recovering from a kitchen fire. Complete kitchen restore and interior repaint. Too old for this crap. Can’t afford a contractor.
