Can you move an object on the diagonal? So if i have rotated a shape on a round ring (jewellery) but i want to move it down so it sits lower in the ring is this possible. I feel I have done this before but it’s not letting me do this now.
Sure, just change the position of the move/rotate indicator.

and you wanted to move it on a diagonal towards the center of the ring(circle)?
Yes, you can move it on a diagonal towards the center of the ring- provided the movement was linear. If you want it moved to an exact position, use the Translate tool or the Align tool. These may require you to place a temporary dummy object where you want your object to move to.
