i can’t figure out how to totally disable snapping. the point i want fine control of is near an axis and it keeps snapping to it.
it would be really nice if there was one button to easily disable/enable all snapping settings
maybe double clicking the magnet icon could disable all snaps?

Have you tried turning off these settings?
ah, yeah i could have made that more clear. it’s shown at the end of my video.
yeah i have all those toggled off. doesn’t seem to be an option for snap-to-axis
