Crashing During .Step Imports

I have the newest IPad Pro 128 Gig.

It seems that when I save some of my files in .step, there are issues with the reloading of these files, making any sort of progress on my work a headache. The program either crashes or just stays stuck on this screen. This is a reoccurring issue. Thank you.
