I’m pretty new to CAD and I’m diving into a project I’ve always wanted to tackle — designing my own golf iron from scratch. I’ve been learning the basics of modeling and want to start applying those skills toward something practical.
If anyone has guidelines, workflows, tips, or resources for creating a golf iron (e.g., shaping the head, setting loft/lie, blending lines, or even best practices for starting sketches), I’d really appreciate any advice.
I’m open to any suggestions — from CAD techniques to manufacturing considerations — as I’d love to learn the right way to approach this from the start.
I found this quite complex to model in Shapr3D as there are many compound curves involved. Here’s what I came up with using the sketches provided by @SCALEMODEL.
I concur with everything he stated especially ‘the hardest part joining the head and rod’.
