Hello Sharpr3D User
I have a feeling that first part of your post was a mistake or you copied and pasted the wrong thing?
What I understood you are trying to draw:
• 5 triangle faces around the z axis
• 5 faces are laid so that the sides of the triangles touch
• Size is 164 mm in side lengths
• The 5 surfaces should form a closed hood
How To:
Switch to front view
Draw triangle at origin
Switch to top view and place a pentagon for reference so you have a plane reference later. Put corner on origin
Switch to side view
Extrude traingle in-ward (how ever thick you want it)
Rotate triangle object using outer base as pivot (52.625°)
Now select traingle object and rotate (using center of pentagon)
rotate copy 72°, 144°, 216°, 288°
Now just fix the triangle sides over lap by subtract or rotate or whatever you prefer.
If you want a single object you can union it.
An easier option 2:
Another option is the extrude the pentagon and then scale the top. You will need to pre-calculate the height first so you get the side lengths you want at the end. Here is an example:
