Exporting models

Am I able to export models and put them into adobe illustrator like I can in Sketchup?

As a 3D view NOT 2D.

Thanks

I think illustrator accepts .obj files. But if you have an Adobe subscription you would be better off using Adobe Dimensions I think.

Thanks for the reply.

I don’t think I asked the correct question. What I want to be able to do is make something like this:

But have it work as a vector too.

If you know a way it would be much appreciated

Thanks

Adobe probably already has assets for something like that. Illustrator and Dimensions now work together. Open brochure Stock 3D asset | Adobe Stock

Hi,

I assume you have the 3D model of a device and want to create the user manual.

The only way I can imagine to create this kind of vector images from shapr3D is:
1/ create the scene you want in the default orientation view

[Edit] : it is better to click on the corner of the orientation cube to get a isometric view

2/ create a drawing of the objects using isometric view, so it will look more or less as it was in the default orientation view (you can mask the border by selecting empty sheet as title block)

3/ export the drawing in .dxf or .dwg or .pdf, which all are vector format

4/ open the .dxf, .dwg, or .pdf file in a vector program to crop the image and add the text, arrows, etc.
(if you are on MacOS, keynote can open .pdf file and do the job)

This is perfect thank you!

Do you know is there anyway to add shadow at all?

Thanks

Hi,

you cannot add shadows to drawings, because this module of Shapr3D is intended to generate standardized mechanical drawing view.

But you can add some shadows along the lines with your vector program, to get a better looking result.
(quick sample done with Keynote)

Hi,
Quick sample with Illustrator.
