Currently, dragging a history item moves that item within the list whether or not the list is in select mode. That behavior should be different in select mode to allow a drag-select of multiple items for suppression or deletion. This would make rolling back changes much quicker.
Thank you for the suggestion @TheBum. We are considering this interaction, the challenge is how it conflicts with other gestures on the list (e.g. scrolling it, that’s also necessary even in select mode).
The Apple Mail app puts “radio buttons” on the left when going into select mode. Dragging over the message preview text scrolls the list; dragging over the selection radio buttons does a drag-select. Maybe you could try something similar.
