“Follow Path” added to pattern tool

One of additional options I would like to see added to the Pattern Tool is a “Follow Path” function.

  • The current pattern tool is limited to circular or linear paths. Adding a follow path functionality would allow for the easier modeling of all chain, track and belt driven assemblies.

  • currently the only way to create a loop or track in an irregular shape is to emplace each assembly separately, an incredibly time consuming task without the new copy functions that make that task even slower.

  • Designers of moving mechanical components, 3D modeling for printing (like myself) and a multitude of other applications would benefit from this addition.

  • For simplicity’s sake the option of placing the assemblies parallel or perpendicular to the drawn path should be included.
