Ft and in dimension notations not working

I can’t get the dimension text to fill out correctly in ft and inches. Previously it would allow me to enter it in xx’ xx" format. But now it just tells me there’s a syntax error. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong or the latest update broke this feature.

I’m on an iPad Pro, iOS 18.3.2

I don’t know if this is a hack or intended usage of the new variable dimension dialogue, but I can input ft and in if I write it as an equation, like this: xxft + xxin

I very much preferred the old dialogue for dimensioning, and while I understand the usefulness of variables, I would like to have the option to turn them off and just input a fixed number without having to resort to math to do so.

Are you sure the previous version let you input 12" or 1’ ? I still have the previous version and there is no way to input " or ’ it was only feet or inch couldn’t combine both.

Feet or Inch was chosen in the dimension settings and if you choose inches you had to type 12 not 1’ because no way to input " or ’

Yes, the dialog box was different. It had a predefined space for ft and inches, and fractions. Now it only recognises decimal integers.

You are correct, I only worked in Inches so I never noticed the different calculator, if you change to Feet you get both ft. and in.

In Inches

In Feet

I also recommended some calculator changes here:

This is what the calculator dialog shows on my iPad:
