Help modeling curved chair

I’m new to the Shapr3D community. Hopefully I am posting on the right thread. I’m an UI/UX designer and motion graphics artist,

I’m invested in learning Hard surface modeling which I’ve been at for about a year using C4D. I would also love to improve my CAD skills using Shapr3D.

Recently I began looking at this model, : I am particuarly struggling with finding the right approach to model the top part of the chair.


As a first order design, try Sweeping a rectangular cross section along the trajectory curve of the back. Just do 1/2 and mirror. Next you might add Lofted sections to account for differences in thickness. Also, you might get better advice with photos from different views.

Would you recommend any tutorials to help with this?
