I created this body using the approach this user suggested. Now I’m trying to subtract/extrude the section highlighted below but the body is tapered.
Which tool can I use to achieve this?

Can we assume the extrusion you wish to subtract also has a tapered edge or feature? All we can see is a highlighted surface.
One way is to simply re-create the original tapered body minus the area you now wish to subtract.
In this picture, you have the “offset face” tool selected. Did you select the “Extrude” tool?
