How do i prevent a rectangle from "connecting" to a guide line?

Probably another newbie question but here goes. I’m designing a plywood case. I draw the outer dimensions, create an offset loop for the plywood thickness, and then draw another 1/4" offset as a guide for the dado depth for vertical plywood supports.

I then create a vertical plywood section that I place on the dado guide line and make copies as needed. However for some reason these vertical plywood sections “connect” somehow to the 1/4" guide line and I can’t move them horizontally to the correct positions. Auto constraints are on.

Am I going about this the wrong way? How can I prevent this from happening? Thanks in advance

Turn the auto constraints off temporarily while you make the copies and then apply constraints manually when you’re ready.
