Another example then:
Imported an in ZX precisely placed item, need to move it by Y watertight to the flat surface, this would be so simple with a created axis connection to Translate. And yes, Project-Translate works.

Wait are you saying your hand and eye coordination is .0001 accurate?
But you lost the original (precise) placement X Y
Nope. I’m saying you can use move tool with that precision.
Ok. I got it. You imported them in right XY placement. I was just wondering why you need to import so many similar parts if you can copy them and put precisely in place you need.
Now I understand your problem. I never have parts what are placed in the right place but only in 2 dimensions I usually import something and place there I need them.
Where do you get them positioned like so?
Measuring the real thing. Multipla lasers, caliper etc. Often only can get two axis. Also at adjustments some surfaces moves independently. Finally there is that problems when assembly many, not so small, projects to one.
Great examples, thanks
My reason asking and suggesting making location marks because they have to come from somewhere. In your case it was location from the import.
If made from scratch that would be established already on that white plate. It’s good to know ahead of time the whole process and how you got there.
