How to revolve a thread on a curved surface

I am attempting to revolve a screw thread on the ext. of a curved surface. When i revolve my thread (triangle shape) off the axis, it will naturally not follow the ext. of the body’s curvature its attached to. Is there a way to do this?

You can project a line around the curved surface first.
