Sketch the diagonals in 2D n then project them over the tapered area.

You do see 50% since it does so! It comes from geometrical n physical limitations. The other part should be mirrored.

I had to select the cone border & the spiral to project it correctly over the body
Its a plug used in oilfield wells to isolate frac stages.
Project both spirals over the cone face and then extrude.

Why don’t you use the appropriate cross section of the thread and then applying sweep tool instead of the non-exact extrude one?! It’ll give you the exact thread shape.
