Import/Export SAT

As we try to integrate Shapr3D into our work flow of Architectural Concept Design and Urban Design, we found the ability of importing/exporting SAT is important.

Because we need Shapr3D to work with Revit together in future,
and SAT is the essential for this communication.

Revit do not read or write iges or step, and in the format of SAT, it will let the model transfered in keep all the nature that revit provided, which is essential, and these features will lose if the model is not properly imported…

So SAT is important for this process…

For now we have to use 3rd party software like Rhino to help as a intermedite translator, it makes too long a way and prevent people from the willing of using it…

Hi @JimHo, adding more formats is on our radar, although we haven’t prioritized this project yet.

I have a similar situation with our coordinate measurement machine. Zeiss Calypso chose to use .SAT as its native format.
