- Allowing users to import and save their specific 2d drawing templates will shorten the workflow for anyone using Shapr3d doing design for their own company as well as work for other companies. Current uneditable 2d drawing templates do not comply with ANSI standards, cannot be edited or saved with information that is pertinent to a specific company or for internal use, forcing a drawn out process of exporting your current 2d drawing as a pdf and then editing that in other software that allows editing pdf files. Saving those edited pdf files and sending those to a specific customer or onto the shop floor !
- I do not have permission to share customer files so cannot provide these. However I do feel a fix would not be difficult to envision. The ability to edit the entire title block and position to match customer or in house specifications. Visualized 3d views need to be easily to import, adding notes to all views needs to be easy and allow custom arrows for each view and placement on the drawing just to name a few and save time, Essentially a fully customizable print would be the best solution with beginning customizable templates provided for the user to modify per their requirements.
- The outcome would substantially shorten my workflow !!
- See # 1 above and know that each new drawing requires a separate process to publish a 2d print and any change orders means a complete new work around to publish !
- YES !! Each entity has their own standard for 2d drawings and so each project is different, even in house projects !! Estimating time for any workaround using other software is fraught and difficult at best and is an incredible time consumer !!
2d prints and their enhancements are an integral part of the manufacturing process allowing precise directions as to how and what specifications a part and product are manufactured to and to allow traceability as to where and or who the process quality needs to improve or change !!! Most if not all quality programs old and new require a “paper Trail” as a basic template to improve and assure quality!
A simple way to allow us this type of feature would be to let us save our own templates .pdf and .png as well as others and use those when creating a 2d drawing in Shapr3d !
