Make mesh bodies, for example from scans or from 3rd party supplied objects, editable and consistently able to integrate
Mesh bodies represent an important volume of pre-existent design activity. These can already be handled but to a very limited extent, for example via slice and occasionally subtract. Resultant designs often fail to successfully resolve during slicing for 3D printing with fatal errors that cannot be corrected.
Producing successful means of editing and incorporating mesh objects will open the door to dramatically shortening design time for objects that can be scanned, for example
I often download 3rd party mesh that solves some part of a problem that interests me, or could provide the basis for some improved structure. Few can be used successfully in this way. Even things as simple as containers for Raspberry Pi computers that fall short of expectation in some important direction, but have to be completely reconstituted from scratch in order to make the required changes.
