Linking sketches to bodies

For simplicity, I will often snap a new sketch directly to existing geometry. I was wondering how I would link that new sketch to the body without having to link the new sketch the one the body is based on.

Here I would like to link my new sketch to the rotating lid body, so when I rotate it, the sketch moves with it:

How would I go about making the body’s edge the driver for the new sketch?

Is that possible at all or would I have to do linked driving sketches for this?

You can try projecting the face to a plane. But I don’t think that works unfortunately. Somewhere in the feature requests from way back when I asked for capturing a sketch with a plane at a cross section of the body and plane.

Thank you for your answer! I figured it might not be possible without doing series of linked driving sketches, but it would indeed be a neat feature to be able to just pin a sketch to a body permanently.
