So I’ve been messing around a bit with a blade shape, I might try to create a replica of a roman pugio dagger.
The blade itself is fairly easy, a bunch of cross-section profiles, a lofting guide, done.
However, I was wondering if it is possible to loft towards a point. My instinct says no, and I probably should just do a tiny profile very near the tip of the blade. But hey, I might be wrong. So if it is possible, How would I go about doing such a loft?
Thanks!
Try lofting half of the blade and mirroring it. Search for boat hull or wings less than 1 year or 2 old because of loft improvements since then.
That’s what I did. Actually only lofted a quarter section of the blade and then mirrored it twice. My question is about the very tip of the blade, if I can loft towards a “perfect” point. basically towards a null-profile.
Not sure if this helps but here’s an indirect way to loft to a point.
Oh yeah, that’s it! Thanks a bunch!
