The problem that this feature will solve:

Allow for mice with more than 2 buttons to remap the functions of said buttons for the desktop apps.

Brief description of the outcomes that you expect from this feature:

This will allow me to set the buttons to what pretty much every other professional desktop CAD systems alllows and seems to use (like middle mouse press to rotate the view).

What can’t you achieve without this feature?

This is more quality of life and without this option i have to constantly have to switch methods/control schemes between various softwares (not just CAD but slicers and other related softwares).

Please add this option.

It is strange that you can’t re-map custom, but this might help in your situation. File→Settings→Navigation Presets allows you to select from a variety of mouse action presets. No clue if there is a way to create a new preset hiding somewhere else, but I didn’t see anything obvious.
