Newbie - How would I go about creating

Hi guys, how would I go about creating this? My lovely hubby has asked if this is possible to 3d print, I am a real newbie on all of this as you can tell and I am struggling to know which programme is best to create something like this that I can turn into a curved latch I guess you would call it!

So im guessing I need to create a rectangle but then curve it and thats where I am stuck as no idea where to start - are there any basic tutorials I could follow to show me how to do this please?

Offset line.

I created a rectangle.

Added the circle.

Trimmed the lines I did not need.

I offset my remaining line.

Drew lines to close the right end of the two resulting lines.

Extruded.

Now I need coffee…. so much work so early and no coffee.

From there you can sketch on the sides of the body’s surface the cutouts you need for holes and notches.
