Remember last used directory for exports

Please follow the format below for requesting a feature.

The problem that this feature will solve:

Better user experience. Better consistency.

Currently when exporting — especially with 3D Print, the directory location for the exported file is not consistent. Furthermore, I cannot predict what the location will be. Many times it is where I expect, being the last place I exported my 3MF file, but sometimes it is the parent directory to that, or something else. I’ve tried to be mindful about where the file is going but sometimes go too fast and miss that detail.

Brief description of the outcomes that you expect from this feature:

I would expect when exporting 3D Print files that they always go to the folder I used the last time I exported 3D print files.

Furthermore, I would expect each of the different export types (3D Model, 3DPrint, Augmented Reality, Drawing, Image, Shapr3D Project, Sketches and Visualization) to behave this way. That would make it easier and more predictable where my files would be exported.

What can’t you achieve without this feature?

This problem just slows me down, but not stop my work.

Platform…
I’m usually using iPad, but have seen this on the Mac as well.

I’d like to see this also.

Thanks for the suggestion. We plan to work on exports later this year and this is something that we’re definitely considering.

Thank you Peter. From my point of view, this feature is not a “need” or a “want”, it is an ”expectation” of any software that wants to have a good UX.

Peter, it looks like this is fixed, thank you!
