i need some advice.. this is the first time i have needed to pattern along a face that isnt perfectly straight. i have two instances in my model where i need to do this, one across a curved circle inset, and another section where its a simple sloped face.
i am guessing this might be a toolset we dont have yet in the program, because linear pattern seems limited to a straight line. circular could work for the curved section i have but i dont think it will help with the slight chord fillet i have on the ends. need some sort of tool like pattern on face or something… anyways need some workaround ideas unless i am lacking knowledge of a tool at my disposal
ok update, i achieved patterning the ridges on the angled face by finding the angle, rotating the first ridge by that and THEN preforming a linear pattern on it. i wish this was easier but at least i found a workaround for that part.
i still need a solution for the rounded sections (very first image in post) though
on second thought, this solution isnt perfect.. still open to other ideas from the community. elephant in the room is we are missing the proper toolset but yeah whatever
