I am Trying to continue these fluted profiles around this radius corner and the circular pattern bit does not work for it. Can anyone please give some insight on how i can do this?? have been trying to figure it out for days
Hi Liam,
Since you have a radius, you can use the pattern tool. Select a flute on your sketch and move the gizmo to the center of the radius arc. Then you can create the pattern.
If you had a more complex curve than radius, I don’t know a good way…
Minor point. Yes, the Pattern tool is the way to go for both the horizontal flutes and the curved flutes. Make only a couple of flute sketches and extrude them. Now use the Pattern tool on the flute bodies accordingly. Again, a minor point.
And…Merry Christmas!
Hi Mike!
Minor points are good points! I guess I’ve been focusing on my sketches too much with HBPM. You are absolutely correct, to apply the pattern tool to the body instead of the sketch. In the beta, when the pattern is on the sketch, the details (center point, angle, qty) are lost. However, when the pattern is applied to a body, those parametric details are kept, and therefore are editable!
Thank you! And, Merry Christmas!
Absolute legend thank you Bob!
Thank you Mike!
Merry Christmas to you too!
