After I extrude my sketch to for example cut the shape out of another object the original sketch automatically disappears (it is still there but it changes to the crossed eye “hidden” on its own). Is that a setting I can change and if yes where and how? Thanks in advance
It’s a feature. A sketch will be hidden after all the profiles on the sketch have been used up. There’s no way to change the behavior.
Okay thanks I hope this gets fixed in a update soon
I doubt that’s going to happen unless a bunch of people raise a stink. As I said, it’s a feature, meaning that the powers-that-be wanted it.
Actually, that’s a great feature - It’s been a mystery to me why some sketches are hidden and others aren’t. Thanks for the explanation.
I’ve been trying to cram everything that happens in a plane into one sketch to make sure they’re really in the same plane, not one that’s just close. That means I’ve got lots of geometry that’s not used, so I have to turn off sketches manually to clear the clutter.
You can also create coplanar sketches, which are separate sketches drawn on the same plane.
I personally like the fact that the sketch is hidden automatically after you have used it. All to often after you have produced bodies, you want to do something else, if the sketch is still there it stops you from selecting a surface.
It will be logical to add a check box in the settings menu for “auto sketch hide” or not.
