Splitting sketches

I’ve made a sketch that is like to have as two separate sketches. I’d like the red one to be one and the rest another. I’ve tried to just select the lines which should be a sketch and move them away, however the rest of the lines follows.

Move the sketch towards you and zero it out vs moving the sketch size ways. But that will create a new sketch layer.

You can disconnect sketch and move it or unlink key constraints that connects the sketch.

Okey, moving the selected sketch depthwise seemed to work fine in order to separate the sketches, although a little unintuitive. :slight_smile:

I use offset planes to project to. Be nice if there was a way to get the sketch to move with the plane after projecting.

I think you are not asking for this because it creates more steps, but does what you describe.

Use offset plane, put value in the offset variable, project onto Plane Offset and variables controls distance from 0 to what you prefer. Projected Sketch moves with the Offset Plane.
