Don’t lift off the Pencil from the screen. Just press it and keep moving the Pencil.
Here’s a video that can help you.
Two tips:
- press with the Apple Pencil, but don’t pick it up. make sure it has contact with the screen
- after you press, don’t keep pushing the pencil. you need to release the pressure, but make sure to keep contact with the screen

Currently you cannot connect two splines directly, so you have to draw a spline with one line.
It takes a little practice, we know. But you can move the control points of the spline later. That helps a lot to perfectly position the line.
You can also set the required pencil pressure in the menu in the lower right corner
