3Dconnexion - issue

Issue:

The SpaceMouse does not respond at all inside Shapr3D, even though it works normally in the 3Dconnexion Trainer.

Accessibility and privacy permissions have already been granted in macOS settings.

I also tried re-installing both Shapr3D and 3DxWare, but the issue persists.

MacBook with macOS Ventura 13.7.8 (latest update)

Shapr3D: Latest version, downloaded directly from the Shapr3D website (not App Store)

3Dconnexion software: 3DxWare 10.8.9 (latest driver)

3Dconnexion device: SpaceMouse (works fine in 3Dconnexion “Trainer” and “Viewer”)

Configuration: In 3Dconnexion Home, I selected Configure → Shapr3D as the target application.

In Shapr3d: view > “spacemouse settings” is greyed out..

Unauthorized repost (I hope its OK)

What version of the SpaceMouse driver are you using? We’re in touch with 3Dconnexion because version 10.8.9 is currently causing issues with Shapr3D. If you’re on this version, could you please downgrade to 10.8.7?

Running new Tahoe 26.0.1 with latest version of Shapr3D on Mac (5.951.0) failed to properly work with my 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse using 3DxWare 10.8.10 and your fix to downgrade to 10.8.7 fixed my issues! Thank you. I hope this gets resolved soon…

I am currently experiencing a similar issue. The only difference is that with 3DxWare 10.8.7, the space mouse works in S3D version 5.961.0.9619, but does not work at all in 5.980.0.9712. Switching to an earlier version of S3D 5.961.0.9619 helps, but if the project was opened in the latest version of S3D, it can no longer be opened in an older version.

Any ideas? Or just wait for a fix from S3D team?

Never mind, just read this 5.980 - Easier access to project spaces

Hello!

The SpaceMouse isn’t working in Shapr3D on macOS Ventura 13.7.8 due to a known issue with the latest 3DxWare 10.8.9 driver. Although the device works in 3Dconnexion’s Trainer and Viewer, Shapr3D doesn’t recognize it, and the SpaceMouse settings remain greyed out. Downgrading to 3DxWare 10.8.8 is currently the recommended fix.

Hello!

The compatibility issue has been resolved in our latest release.
