This feature simply has to be implemented. In my opinion, it’s a truly essential thing for a CAD system that’s aiming for the business sector. Thus sooner or later it will come up ![]()
That video posted is close to what I was thinking. Actually I think it’s cooler than what I was thinking of.
Also i’ll upload the workbench model tonight.
This is in the works.
May I ask what exactly in the work ? ![]()
My bench design is a combo of classic woodworking table and a Festool MFT
MFT Workbench.shapr (12.7 MB)
I’m looking forward for this option Gott a long time. Would shorten my workflow a lot!

I noticed my post was linked to an earlier thread marked as solved, but I don’t believe that solution addresses what I’m asking for.
From what I understand, that thread dates back to before the Align tool existed in Shapr3D, so the “solution” relied on manual workarounds using move and snapping tools. While the Align tool has since been added, the specific limitation described in that thread still exists.
My request is to extend the current Align tool to allow constraining alignment to a single axis (X, Y, or Z). Right now, alignment is applied across all axes, and achieving axis-specific alignment still requires manual adjustments.
To better illustrate this, I created a couple of mockups (attached below). These show a simple addition to the Align tool where the user can toggle which axes are active. By default, all axes remain enabled (preserving current behavior), but the user can disable specific axes to limit alignment to only the desired direction.
For example, in the image where only the X axis is enabled, the part aligns horizontally while maintaining its position in Y and Z. This allows for more precise control without needing extra steps or workarounds.
This approach follows existing UI patterns already used in Shapr3D (such as toggle-style options), so it would integrate naturally into the current workflow without changing how the tool works for users who don’t need this level of control.
If there is already a way to constrain alignment to a single axis using the current tool, I’d appreciate clarification. Otherwise, I believe this remains an open and useful feature request.

I would kill for this…
ed; of course also in ref to active arbitrary Construction Plane!
This is in the works.
Never happend?
