As a design engineer, I often need to do quick finite element analysis (FEA) to check for stress, deformation, and failure points in early-stage designs. Right now, I have to export my models to other software to run these checks, which slows me down. Having a basic FEA toolkit directly in Shapr3D would let me run simple simulations without leaving the app, speeding up my process and reducing back-and-forth between programs.
Brief description of the outcomes that you expect from this feature:
This feature should let me do basic FEA, including:
Stress and displacement analysis to check if parts can handle loads.
Thermal analysis to see how parts behave under temperature changes.
Modal analysis for vibration and dynamic load checks.
Simple tools to apply loads, forces, and boundary conditions directly to the model.
A built-in material library with editable properties.
Basic mesh generation with some user control for accuracy in key areas.
Visual results like stress plots and deformation views.
These tools would let me validate my designs quickly and make changes without leaving Shapr3D.
What can’t you achieve without this feature?
Without integrated FEA, I’m forced to export models to other software for analysis, which slows down my workflow and introduces potential issues during file transfers. Adding this feature would make Shapr3D more useful as a full design and analysis tool.
