Boolean subtraction

I’ve been using Boolean subtraction. It works well, however the Boolean object vanishes after the subtraction.

Is there any way to stop a Boolean object from disappearing after performing a subtraction?

Yes - there is a “keep original” radio switch in the top left corner - see pic
