Compatibility with SolidEdge ST7

Hello Shapr3D-Team,

I’m thinking about buying myself the new Apple iPad Pro 10.5 with the Apple Pen and Shapr3D looks perfect to get some work done on the train or in bed.

Currently I work with an older Version of Solid Edge on my desktop, but is it possibly to import and export .step-Data from my iPad to my Windows desktop (and vice versa)?

I was thinking about saving the files in Dropbox or Google Drive, would that be the easiest way to import/export data to/from Shapr3D?

Thanks a lot for helping me and I’m sorry for my bad english!

Greetings
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Data exchange can be solved by the .step format, yes.

You can use any cloud solution for this: Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud. These all have Windows desktop clients and you can use them in a browser too.

Actually between SE and Shapr you should use the native Parasolid file format (x_t), it is a much better choice than STEP.
