It would be a convenience if I were able to quickly gesture, x or scratch, over a selection to delete it. Double tap with two fingers to undo, three finger double tap to redo.

There isn’t a dedicated gesture for delete, but when you select something, the Delete buttom shows up automatically, and you just have to tap on it.
Thank you. Yes Sir I am aware of this. My suggestion is a small optimization that is already part of how the Apple Pencil is designed to work with text. and so I thought it might be a easy implementation.
