Hi @JPressN
If the first two parts of this is what your happy with then add a plane in the centre and mirror it then the first leg on the right will be the same as the end leg
Won’t work it’s not handed
Hi again y’all
I must just say i’m really thankful for all your ideas!
@Phil I think there is still some twisting going on in the design. I think that the effect is less visible because your “legs” are squares and mine are rectangular. But from the button view the lines should align where the lampcover profile changes direction Se the picture. When that’s said I’m still not sure on how you managed to get that result! You are definitely getting closer! It looks really good but I just don’t know that you did to get there.
@Xdrakosha Ahh Yes. I’ve actual tried that and forgot it was there again. When I change the degrees from anything other than zero I get an error message
What i’m looking for is if we took a long 3mm x 10mm plastic piece and wrapped it around the surface of the cover profile. The image below is to illustrate this ideas starting point. If it were plastic one would heat it up at the corners and bend it over them until the piece had been wrapped around the whole budy.
@jpulaski This is an really interesting take! I’ve tried it and it gives a somewhat wobbly result. The issue here is that the helix isn’t perpendicular on the surface it cuts.
Kind regards
Jonas
I think @Oregonerd original suggestion is the way to go.
Hi mate , made rectangles and it’s twisted , i was originally under the impression that you didn’t want the twist but looking at your sketch you do want it yes ?
Anyway take a look and let me know
