I have imported a dxf into shapr3d, but when I go to extrude I get an error that says “the face of the sketch filling can’t be extruded becuase it would create a non-manifold body”. I’m very novice and just did something like this with another dxf file and it worked. don’t understand why this version will not work.
Please provide a detailed description of the issue. Provide as much information as possible, including screenshots and/or screen recordings. For screen recording, we recommend using Loom (loom.com), an easy-to-use screen recording tool that works on Windows, iPadOS, and macOS. Loom videos can be easily embedded on the forum simply by pasting their URL. Topics without detailed information will be automatically closed. Zoom in and look closely for a corner that is actually a loop or 2 corners touch at a point. For example 2 squares touching each other by one corner will not extrude into one object (non manifold)
Try dividing it into smaller areas in sketch mode. Taking too big a bite at a time, so to speak, might be the problem. This will help find the area where the problem is.
A non-manifold body is a 3D shape that cannot exist in the real world due to its geometric properties, such as having edges or vertices that do not connect properly. This can lead to issues in 3D printing or modeling, as the software may struggle to interpret the geometry correctly.

This is more or less my experience. The vector I started with looked just fine as an image but when it comes to cleanly creating spaces for an extrusion it failed. On the plus side you can use your editing software and tweak it if you are patient. It took me a few trial and error loops last time but I am going to assume if I practice it should get easier and easier. I would imagine the better the vector you start with the simpler it will be. If it can be laser cut it probably can extrude. Maybe? I am not an expert or even a credible novice but I did have the same issue as you and did manage to muddle my way into getting my drawing to work with Shapr3D.
