Extrude at Angle

I am needing to extreme through a body at an angle.

I have the extrusion faces created (projected actually) and rotated their plane to the needed angle,

I am unable to rotate the plane because of the dependency on the projected parts to the original.
So I did a move/copy of them, which of course made a duplicate set. I have been able to rotate them into position to extrude..

However, The extrusion tool works and pulls them in the direction I need, but the extrusion will not successfully complete because of them having dependency on the other projected components.

I figure I can break that dependency, but can’t quite successfully figure out the proper methodology.?:man_shrugging:t3:

Ideally, I would prefer to use my originally projected components, on link their dependency and just utilize them for the extrusion. Is this possible? Thx

Having difficulty visualizing your problem.

But I think one of them is projected sketch, there’s 2 versions.

  1. Linked Projected Sketch
  2. Unlinked Projected Sketch

Linked and Unlinked can be toggled on or off in the Gear Button.

If sketch is purple it is Linked Sketch there is no options to unlink it. Only to delete it and do it over again.

Linked Sketch is useful because if you modify your 3d model, example make it bigger that change carries over to the linked Sketch.

Yes, the projected sketch is indeed purple! So, only way is to reproject and chose UNLINKED from gear icon menu?
Thx

Now, what is the correct way to use the section view? Yours has a colorful view, but not on the iPad…:face_with_monocle:

iPad shows me the same.

I think colors and line fillings are chosen randomly.

strange, at the time the section view was released it was also colorful for me…

Looks something wrong with my old models…

Looks, something wrong vith the yelow..

Not with yellow. Then you change color of the body it starts to show exactly this color in section view. Random colors used the default color and material used.

Changed the color again, looks bug

Not a bug. It just respect your choice. Reset color to default and you’ll see colorful section again.

My colors

After resisting to default

I’ve already reported it to the developers twice, and they admitted that it shouldn’t work that way. It used to work with yellow too.

The attached image was taken a while ago. I used to be able to change the colors of objects that are touching each other. I think this would be the correct way to do it. For example, if I later return to a work that has already been recolored, I would have to restore the base color to see the section clearly…

Yes that is correct, you can delete it and re-project or do what I believe you already tried. Duplicate/Copy the sketch and Zero out the position, than delete that purple sketch after.

That toggle in gear button doesn’t unlink it, it just stays either off or on.
