Generative AI realistic rendering

Visualization now is nice, but not sufficient for actual commercial use on website and socials. There should be an accurate and realistic generative Ai rendering of the model (like in Sketchup)

I’m actually considering switching to Sketchup for this specific feature (but I like working more in Shapr3D)

I haven’t found a third party software that can make the proces fluent. Taking 2D snapshots and then using a generative Ai always transforms the design in some way. The Ai model needs accurate 3D data to generate.

While at it I would like to see some Generative AI Modeling.

Care to comment on the security of this feature? Which engine is this? What is the security policy to you? To the end user?

We’re using nanobanana. Standard Shapr3D security practices apply.

You can also go to Google Gemini and do the same thing.

In Gemini I understand its more public. The model I upload, I’m sure it gets stored somewhere and is used to help other generate something very similar.

So if I use Shapr3d and use my private patent pending model and render it in realistic environment, is that model now in general public database?

Using this AI feature is my model still secure?

Meaning I’m knowingly and not knowingly putting things in public.

My example above, I don’t think Brad Pitt knowingly granted me to use his likeness to be used with this image and this object. But Google let me do it anyways.

In another thread, it was stated they use nano banana and that standard shapr3d security applies. Here’s the nanobana security policy. The security on this is by no means straight forward and there are implications on their policy vs. shapr3d. The tech is cool for sure but the security around this is questionable.

No, it’s not.

In this example, the private patent pending model will be part of Shapr3D internal AI training based on current policy. Once learned, the private CAD details will not stay private if another user can receive them in a response from the AI. This would breach any confidentiality agreement the original user may be under. I hope Shapr3D can exclude customer data from training by default, at least for paying users.

Customers can choose to opt out of having their data used for AI model training by contacting Shapr3D Support. Requests will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws and Shapr3D’s Privacy Policy.

No data from subscribers have ever been used for training Shapr3D models, and if you submit a request, we will ensure that your data will not be used for training in the future either.

Thanks for the reply, that’s great to hear.

What happens if I request to exclude my data from AI training but a colleague on the same team has the same project data through the Shapr3D sync feature? Then it would not matter that I requested to exclude my data.

Ideally data exlusion should be the default for paid teams, but this is not communicated anywhere at the moment and there is no way to ask for team exclusion from training.

The projects belong to you, and therefore they will be excluded from any future training. For company accounts, we also ensure that a single request applies to the entire organization. We’ll add this clarification to our policy.

We’re working on the best way to communicate our approach so users feel in control and can trust Shapr3D with their data. With our current process, every user can choose whether they want their data to be excluded, and we guarantee this exclusion even if the subscription is later cancelled.

This is a good policy, thank you.

Could you please add a setting or indicator in Team Settings for clear visibility?

Currently the “exclude from AI training” support ticket is only confirmed in Zendesk at user level and I need to be more certain that the setting is off for the entire team. This is because any of my colleagues will upload details covered by NDA as they are working in Shapr3D due to the always-on cloud sync feature.

We are happy with Shapr3D in general and are only missing full clarity and assurance on team level that confidentiality will be preserved with data excluded from AI training. A team setting would be great for that.

We plan to include this setting in the application, but implementing this change will take some time. In the meantime, I recommend contacting our support team, they can provide a document you can use for confirmation.
