History kills editing

Am I the only one that find this disturbing (or affected)?

Working on a complex project with a complex history transform my M2 to a turtle regarding items linked to a sketch when editing the sketch.

The suggested solutions kills the links (_all_history). I would like to delete all history except some to me, important parts.

As it is all-or-nothing, the only way to work around this is to create each important (to be linked) part as a new project and export-import.

The downside is then the tedious workload of doing this at every adjustment (as an ongoing procedure of erasing a congested history probably is necessary).

The procedure also removes or makes it difficult where the ability to do work were part depends on or is in reference to the main project.

I can find no good procedure to handle this. For a try:

1 Duplicate project A as project B
2 Merge history in project A
3 Delete all in B except the important items X and Y
(Related to section, inserting History break point, delete all history one before break point.)
4 Import B to A

In theory, but that accomplishes noting as
3 Delete all in B except the importantā€¦
Still, solely, B makes my M2 to a turtle.

or

1 Export project A to project C as step
2 Import C step (hierarchy intact)
3 Delete all in A except the important items X and Y
(Related to section, inserting History break point, delete all history one before break point.)
4 Import A to C

In theory, but that accomplishes noting as
3 Delete all in A except the importantā€¦
still, solely, A makes my M2 to a turtle

I can find no solution other than to split up a project in progress into so many parts as I need items depending on history of sketches.

This could be solved by:

A way to partially Merge history and keep important item X and Y. This would also benefit handling a bloated History (best)

An intact History not slowing down my M2/M3/M4/Qubit (better)

A option to temporarily and globally turn OFF all linked updates (No visual feedback from item but at least I then can edit the Sketch) (better)

An opportunity to export (possible several) Related to selection as an entity of sketch and item etc (good)

Example, an item with atiny history only related to this and even here is a lag that can be seen.

As history grows, here 1250 lines, it becomes unbearable. Just trying to move the line in the sketch for a simple item.

And would not even dear to try editing a splineā€¦

Hi,
Have you try to put dimensions to your sketch ? Perhaps it will be faster.

How is your outline in Green? Is it some theme change?

That would be a solution. But the real, not demoed, sever problem arises with splines.

Now I split up the the main project. Export parts needed for reference as step. Create a new efficient sibling-project and then import the needed items back to main. With or without history. Works, but not optimal ending upp with a lots of dependencies without links.
