I have an educational license. But how do I determine whether I have the basic or pro version? My version is 5.791.8191.0 #2fa3b728

See if you can export a STEP file and if you can you have Pro Version.
Basic doesn’t let you export STEP file.
Or try exporting an STL of a body with circular features. If it’s basic, you’ll get rough polygons.
Thanks. I can import a step file and modify it. I can’t figure out how to modify an stl file. I’ve tried opening in Fusion and exporting as a step file, but get an error message when I try to import it into Shapr3D.
First, free version can import STEP which was the reason why we both suggested Export to confirm which version you have.
You can export it as STEP in Fusion but before you do you need to convert STL Mesh to Solid and export.
Open shapr
Go to the bottom left corner and click on ‘Settings’
In the settings popup click on ‘Account’
Then click ‘manage account’
This will open your account page online (log in)
Now select ‘Subscription’
An it will tell you if you are on ‘PRO’
I was actually meaning for you to export a design you created in Shapr.
I think the EDU license is fully functional with all the export options.
Basically if you have a long list of export options, thats it.
Pretty much all limited licenses on CAD programs limit what you can save.
Thanks for the help. I was able to convert the stl mesh to solid (I assume that is what a parametric operation is using the facelted method), and then import into Shapr3D and blow a hole right through it with an extruded circle!!
Done that many times. Sometimes, if the STL is simple enough, I’ll convert to a body and then use measurements to reconstruct it natively in Shapr.
