I have created a body. I’ve projected a sketch onto that body. I used that projected sketch to make negative extrudes into that body (eg cut a window hole into the body). So at this point I have not produced any new bodies, only modified the original one. My conceptual problem is how to repeat these extrudes along the body, other than copying the sketch and manually performing the operaton again. So from the screenshot, I’ve created a door with some detail in Body 01. How do I make duplicates of that door? Any attempts of selection just seems to select the whole body.
One way would be to create new bodies instead of subtracting during the extrude. (You can change this in History.) For convenience, put those bodies into a folder. Now subtract (option: keep removed bodies) the folder from the main part.
At this point you can transform (translate, mirror, etc.) the folder of bodies to use again for another subtract.
Ok, after some experimentation I’ve got the hang of subtracting the folder. However, I’ve hit another snag. The lower part of my projected sketch projects onto a curved surface. I can’t extrude that area, only perform an offset face operation. That doesn’t allow me to create a new body for that area. So that area (highlighted in screenshot) remains part of the main body01. Any ideas?
